I know you may think I'm crazy but I want to install a removable bow mounted trolling motor on my 2003 Mastercraft Maristar 230. That way I can bass fish when the boat is not in use with the family water sports. Has anyone done this before, and what do you recommend for equipment or mounts. No redneck jokes, please.

You know Your a Redneck when ? I have seen people put the clamp style trolling motor on the teak deck before and it seemed to work well. I'm sure the boat would turn better with it on the bow but having it clamped to the teak would be a better place if You ask Me.

I placed one on my 1998 Powerstar. Works great. Built it with brackets that attach to the handrail and the front tow eye, no noles in the boat this way. Put a removable floor with a seat post insert for the front, even with the tower it works great. Put a 50lb thrust elec. motor on the bracket.
