I purchased a Catalyst 112 last season, all in all it's a fun board, but seemed to catch the lip easily when butter sliding. This years model has a beveled edge which looks like it should solve the problem. I've also read that it is a lighter board with outside weights to help spin/kick tricks.
Has anyone ridden last years model vs. this years model?

Grant, can last years be modified?

Thanks!

last years can be modded, but you gotta know what your doing. . .seriously, and as far as the new one. . .ummm it's actually heavier b/c of the double glassing, the catalyst ha sno weights only the byerly and the karma. . .I like it alot better than an 04

I've ridden the '05 byerly a couple sets and it's much improved. My buddy, who has ridden it for about 6 months now kills it on that skate. He hits his 180 shuv-its with more consistency than he ever did on his Concave Cassette.

I was riding the older 107 just the other night and tried a shuv-it to board slide on the wake...the edge dug and board flipped like a potato chip on only a very slight chop.
