Does the center ballast on the team addition make a big difference? My local dealer has a killer special on an in stock limited. (Only 2 ballast system)

yes, you have to get the center ballast unless you want sacs in the boat right?

That's probably why its a deal. Ask them to install it for you if they can.

You could auto self plumb a sack. If it is that good of deal.....that would be a good option. I will assume putting a hard tank in a finished boat would be cost prohibitive.

Do you always sack or use the ballast in your X2?

Mark, A tube sac fits very nicely in the the floor. Before I put lead in my TE, I ran a sac in the floor.

My X-2 has triple Ballast. Full X-2 ballast is more then enough for my ability. I love the wake it puts out, I just need a bigger (family) boat!!!

What I was really trying to find out is... what the wake is like with only the rear ballast?

I would search some of the 220 and new boat threads, then e-mail new owners direct. Send them mail, some people are more direct that way.

Just my $.02

Again, if the deal is great(surprised a dealer is dumping a 220) & you love the 220, I would snag it and worry about center ballast later. Plumbing in a center tank is reportedly painless.

The wake is a little more rampy with just the rear ballast, because the boat is 4200lbs + dry weight, it'll be a little slow getting on a plane without ballast towards the front, other than that, really nice wake, longer transition than my old 210 TE but just as big.

Mark,
Just put in a center sac. I was in the same situation in 04. My dealer had one 04 210 left and it was an LE without the center tank. He told me I could wait for an 05 team but it would cost more. I figured why pay more money for just a center tank. I just plumber in a center sac for and have been extremely happy.

I have learned that the best practice is:
60% Rear
40% front

If you dont have any ballast in front, you will have difficulty to glide over the water.

I have a sac in the locker I keep filled all the time.I think it is nice if I'm going on a long trip I empty the bag and use locker for storage.

I have a team 220. I am thinking about adding a little more weight in the front. It would not be hard to use one of the other pumps to fill and empty a sac in the locker.

Ok.. just test drove the 220. Wow what a great handling boat. My test drive was the limited and I was impressed with the wake with only rear ballast. However I still think I should consider the Team edition with front sac? Great finishing touches on this boat.

I would just by a sack and keep the ski locker.More versatile this way and you can add more weight then the stock center ballast.I own a SAN w/out center tanks but with a 6oo lb center sack.We use the locker to store extra skis and stuff when friends who dont board are on board.

Any suggestions on a good, easy to fill and empty sac?
