This is right up Trumps alley. Con people out of money, don't make good on the agreement(education in this instance), then pull anchor. Under 50% of students graduate from for-profit schools. It's all a joke.

For profit colleges are like a giant toilet that our tax money is flushed down. Employers all know not to hire students from these schools because the curriculum is outdated and the students don't come out with any skills that are useful in the job market. Then the student, with no job, can't pay his loans and in addition to any grants the student received, the loans also go into default. Federal funding was cut to end the predatory practices of these schools and to end the hemorrhaging of federal tax money that is bleeding out into these schools.

You're right though .... with Trump it would be Trump University for all. The government would be directed to give away loans to Trump U students by the trillions. Instead of shutting down ITT would have just been purchased by Trump U and it would become another Trump U for the government to flush money down into.

As soon as you add the for profit aspect to schools, the quality of education goes out the window. It costs money to keep schools teaching cutting edge subject matter and it costs money to hire teachers who instruct effectively. That money hits the bottom line and it never takes long for the guy who gets the bonuses to see how much more money he gets when he cuts the budget to the bone.
