I have the 3 some on my tower and want to put green led's on them. I been looking for them lately and contacted Earmark and Hydrotunes about buying them and they seem expensive. Earmark quoted me $900 and Hydrotunes quoted me $520.

I was wondering if any of you know anyone else that does it cheaper. I know it would pretty cheap to do it myself but I would not trust myself.

Our online store shows WetSounds 8-inch light rings at $141 each, which comes to $564.00 total for four rings. With a forum coupon they're less than $500 for four.

Our WetSounds rings are 3/4" thick and highly polished. They feature 3 LED's for every 1 1/2" versus the typical 3 LED's per every 2". They light both inside and outside. Ours are rabbetted on the exterior and mount under the grill and over the speaker. This is in contrast to the normal behind-the-speaker mount which is dangerous in the case of a WetSounds pod. This light ring also requires a longer LED strip.

We also can produce non-polished 1/2" thick economy rings with a lower LED count for significantly less.

I have seen/felt the ones that Earmark makes and they are excellent.

Finish and fit are the best I've seen.

The original Wet Sounds LED rings and grills by Sierra Hobby were the best...

By the way, while we didn't do the installation, EARMARK supplied the tower light rings and billet aluminum grills for the WetSounds Tige' demo boat.

We also have light rings to fit the Pro485 horn.

Available colors are yellow(amber), orange, red, green, blue, teal, plum, purple and white.

Also, we light up the interior of the WetSounds XS-650 coaxials. With the forum coupon it costs $249.00 per pair for XS-650s lit up in blue or red, speakers included.

Sorry for the delay here are pics of the rings. We have been in business for 15+ years in the manufacturing semiconductor/medical products. But I have been designing/making boat accessories for about 6 years mostly racks, lights, and other custom billet products. The prices listed does not include LED. But we can get the LED's. The lead time takes a little longer to deliver right now with the LED's but in the future the lead time will be less since we will be assembling the LED strips. These prices reflect WW member price.
If you have any custom stuff you need done let me know. We use solidworks for design and Mastercam X for the postprocessor.

The pictures show the frosted design white LED's.

Wetsounds: Can be done in polished or frosted. These run $70.00 ea. no LEDS, The Polk BD Style grill will run around $35.00 unpolished. We will also be offering different styles along with user custom designs.

I'll have to check the shipping cost to your zip code. Will have the site up soon. I'll get you a litter better deal if you order multiple pieces. We just shipped about 30 sets so we have more material on order and will be making another run.

WOW!

Looks great....$141/piece from Earmark or $70 from you?

what gives? why the HUGE price diff.?
Old     (jason_b)      Join Date: Feb 2008       04-15-2009, 1:11 PM Reply
I've made these before and I can tell you $70 is TOTALLY worth not screwing with it--especially after figuring in the cost of material. Thick Plexi or Lexan is not cheap.

We machine everything in-house and we buy lots of material by pallets not just for this but for our regular manufacturing process so our vendors give us good prices. Keep in mind the $141.00 from Earmark does include the standard red/org/yellow LEDs.

Our light ring price includes assembled and the waterproof LED's.

So here is a little comparison shopping for you.

Earmark,
$119 assembled PRO60 WetSounds with 42 red LED's (waterproof). That's $107 with forum discount.

Another option,
$70 light ring, $28 for (2) SuperBright red LED strips equal to our 42 LED's. That's $98.

We're $9 more per ring for polished and assembled with a superior light strip.

We can also do an economy light kit for the PRO60's in red LED's with forum discount for under $85.

So I think we're in the ball game.
