When you do a surface 3 on a skimboard, do you just throw your arms/shoulders/head around or do you carve it up the face back down and around (I use my hand as a rudder when carving method).

My p5 spins that fast that I can just throw my body around in the flats, but I'm really looking for consistency. Which I haven't found yet.

When I do it slow and controlled I lose the wave, when I'm shooting towards the boat and really carve it, the transition from toes to heel weight on the backside of the spins is just too much speed and the board catches or slides out from under me.

practice=consistency something I need to do more of. THX

Do both. Get alot of speed towards the boat.
Carve up about half way and then use your hand and spin. Try and spin slow enough so you stay in control. Be sure to turn your head and look over your shoulder in the direction your spinning. When you spot the boat keep your head looking at it and as you come around lean back onto your front foot to stay with the wave. Hope this helps
