Dry suit Care

I just got dry suit thats a year old. It looks like it's never been used. I was wondering what conditioners and protectants I should put on it during storage and after use.
Also what do most people do for keeping your hands, feet, and head, warm?

Buy a hood, gloves to keep your head,hands warm.

Something like this for the seals to condition and protect.

I sometimes hear about people getting seals replaced when they break. Where do you get that done?

os systems will do it or contact the maker/brand company and ask where to get repaired...it usually takes a month or more.

Lou, I had O'neill replace my ankle/wrist seals on my Boost dry suit. They have a shop in SoCal, Chula Vista to be exact. It was $25/seal. I'm not sure they do any other suits besides O'neill though. I could be wrong. Check out their website for specifics.

Glad this was posted. I bought a barely used Boost for my wife and one wrist seal split the very first trip out! That sucked! Until then, I didn't even realize that there was special care for the seals, and I'm sure the previous owner didn't either. I'll have to send it in to O'Neill.

I'm assuming I should just get all of the seals replaced - if 1 was toast I'm sure they're all on the way out and I don't want to have to send it in over and over. I'll just start over I guess and condition the seals to keep them nice.

Man, the shipping on that website is $8.15, the product itself is only $3.95. I wonder if like a Sports Chalet or something would carry this type of thing.

Sorry for the triple posting...found the same stuff as on that website at Temecula Scuba Center for $4.95. Sounds like any dive shop should have it.

It's on my list of errands to run after work today!

You can buy the seals and replace them yourself. It's cheaper and faster, and not too hard to do a good job of it.

You can go to any scuba dive shop for that stuff and they will do repairs too I'm sure.

They have great products, great customer services, and great prices. I've ridden 6 days this year and they kept my hands and feet warm. I wear a helmet and face mask and that keeps my head warm.

I have a Bare and didn't take care of it too well and had to replace all of the neck, wrist, and ankle seals after two years. It wasn't cheap but since then, I have let it dry, then put dry silicone spray on the rubber and stored it in a trashbag where I try to get as much air out as possible then tie a knot after use, and it's still usable after 3-4 seasons after the replacement.

Not sure about the seals, but my drysuit care instructions advise to store the suit with the zipper open. Also after every 3 times of use, make sure to put wax on the zipper. You can buy wax at a dive shop.

BareFoot International sells seal conditioner (silicone) & zipper wax.... get & use it...

other then that hose it off & out after each use.
