On Lake Norman just outside of Charlotte every fuel station on the lake has a $3.999 price for a gallon of gas. The pumps are so old that the highest price they can go to is $3.999. State law says that the only way the gas price can be enforced is if it is registered on the pump dials. There are only 2 other places on the lake that have newer pumps that are able to charge $4.16/gallon. Currently gas on the streets is $3.85 for mid-grade, which is what is sold on the lake. So, if the marinas don't buy new pumps, they are SOL....
