I recently bought a 91 supra mariah and I ran into a problem right when i got it on the water. The boat ran fine but after running a couple of minutes it started squealing so I shut it off. I opened up the tube on top of the water pump and saw that the impeller had destroyed itself. Now I have a couple questions. First, is there something that would cause this to happen. and second, does anyone know how to retension the belt on a PCM 351? Thanks

1.) It happens. Probably hasn't been changed in years. I replace mine every 1 or 2 years & keep a spare on board.

2.) Alternator bracket, maybe?
