Feliz Navidad y Feliz ano nuevo

Thought I would look into WW and see what is going on and it looks like I missed a great day at Lake Elsinore and wake surfing. That must have been an awesome day, but what are those black things they are wearing over their bodies? What are those for? The water could not be that cold!

Live from the tropics...all the best to everyone over the holidays...

Louise,
If you get the wakeboard itch, check out Tabacon Hot Springs at the base of (volcano) Arenal, and see if Aqua Ski (a school) is still there. Last time I was down there they were decked out with two new Mastercrafts and all the newest gear from Hyperlite. And the lake there is some kind of crazy fiord-looking clear blue majesty with the green hills of the volcano looming above it and occasionally offering up a menacing rumble or belch. Most beautiful wakeboard setting I have ever seen.
Then again, you could 86 the wakeboarding and just sit in the hot springs at Tabacon and drink Pilsens or Cuba libres, which would be pretty sweet. Then again, you could just hang out and drink wherever you are, which also would be pretty sweet! Hope you're also getting in some good surf sessions.
Pura Vida!!

Aqua Ski School is still in CR at the same location. It's a beautiful country, I have family there and visit every few years. Pura Vida! translation...Pure Life. I know you two are having a great time there in paradise.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, we came over from the Pacific Coast and 80 degree temps to rain in San Jose and up north. We are heading south to Dominical for the sun and surf for Xmas. We have been waiting for the weather around Arenal to clear but no luck. Oh well, guess we have to get back to the beach.

Anyone know of a place in Panama?

Nice!
Have fun on that road from Manuel Antonio to Dominical. It will be worth it once you're there. Wishing you offshore winds for the holidays - that Dominical surf can be huge! You have GOT to eat in the Italian place near the entrance to Dominical. Treat yourself, and you won't be sorry!!
Pura Vida!
Sorry I can't help with Panama. There are lots of expats in Dominical, so somebody should know something.

Is there ever many ex-pats here. Surf is ripping right along with the tide and the town is just big enough to support one horse. Hoping that a little further south we will find a boat for a pull...

Strange coincidence... I just got email today from an Australian guy named Tavis that I met last time I was in Dominical about 2-3 yrs ago. His buddy was running the surf school right there on the north end of the beach close to the mouth of the river. Tav has lived and traveled extensively throughout Central America, so I asked him if he had any ideas about Panama. I'll send you an email if I hear anything back.
Happy Holidays
