Hey guys,

New to the forums and I was looking for some comparisons between some wakes. As of right now I am leaning towards a 2008 Super Air Nautique 210 due to price.

However, I'm still trying to figure out some of the differences between the wakes on the 210 vs 230. Is one steeper? wider? bigger? lol I am also open minded towards a VLX if anyone has thoughts regarding that wake. I've ridden the 230 and the VLX and like them both a lot... haven't had a chance to get behind a new 210 though.

I have also ridden behind a 2006 SAN 210 wake - how does it compare to the new 210 with the wider beam and redesigned hull?

Thanks for any input that could help me in my purchasing decision.

Will

230 is the way to go if you have the money. the wake is just massive on that beast.

I agree with Jeremy the 230 is my first choice. But it you want to pull skiers the 210 is a better choice. I have a 08 210.

I definitely do want to ski behind the boat too - like really ski. Do you find the pylon behind the v-drive on the 210 to be cumbersome while skiing? It sure looks lame compared to the 230's system.

Also, I keep seeing 2005 SAN 210s for like 38k... Is it really worth 20g more for an 08 with the new hull?

Thanks for the comments guys!

If you have the $$ and you mostly wakeboard, then Yes.
If money was really no option I would have a brand new 230 sitting in my garage instead of an 07 210...guess I settled

I just found a new 08 VLX for $48.. Any complaints or concerns about the VLX? I've never owned a Malibu and don't know a lot about the company.

The Malibu is a VERY nice boat, but the Nautique is a GREAT boat.

I dont know what you find cumbersome about the ski pylon. I have the pop up pylon when its down its flush with the deck. The 07 and up 210s are wider and larger than the previous 210s. Bu builds a good boat too. Nautique uses PCM engines and has a 5 year warranty that was a major factor for me.

Most of us respond to these questions w/ boat goggles on, we recommend what we purchased.
With that said The Nautiques have steep wakes while Malibus are rampier though with the power wedge you can steepen the wake very similar to that of a Nautique. Both companies are very well respected in the industry so you can’t go wrong there. We like the Malibu as it gives us flexibility especially with the hull choice and the power wedge to really dial in the wake to each rider choice. The gorilla fins really help to help track the boat as well.

The 23LSV is closer match with regards to overall size is a closer match.

In the end demo each boat and pick what fits your needs, but if you want to slalom make sure to try a Malibu on the diamond hull in the VTX or the VLX.

You have to go sit in each boat...drive them too. IMO I couldn't own a vlx or lsv bc I can't see out of the drivers seat..

This may help you lean towards a 07 + SAN 210...
I ride at 82.5 ft, and the wake just keeps going:
