I don't have a very large budget so I will be buying a package online. Let me know what you think of these setups. BTW, I'm a beginner, I'm 6ft and weigh 160lbs.

First board is '07 LF 139 Omega w/ L Alpha bindings. I am a shoe size 11 and I'm worried that I will barely be able to fit my foot in this size binding. Anyone have any input?

Next option is an 08 135 Omega w/ LXL Index bindings which leave me with a better binding size but more expensive.

The last option is a CWB Faze w/ LXL Seven Hinge Bindings.

If you are on a budget, then I would go with the Omega 139.
Free shipping and bonus bucks

i would stay away from the smaller binding, squeezing your foot in to a small binding is never comfortable...or safe. spend the little bit of extra cash...your feet will thank you!

Unfortunately, 300 is my budget. That board package you recommended is too expensive. I can get the omega w/ index bindings shipped for $272 from overtons using their coupon code.

btw, are the index bindings any good? i can't seem to find many reviews

Your top option the Omega w/Alpha's is a solid set up!

I would just run to the local shop and try on the bindings before you get them. At a size 11 you should be able to fit a large, but if you can try on some LF boots somewhere do that first.

Forget Overtons. Totally overpriced. Go for the bigger bindings. You might consider a bigger board too. I've taught all sizes of people and they all seem to have an easier time getting up on a 140+.

at a size 11, you will want some XL's

I guess I should go with the index binding setup then which accomodates sizes 9-13. I also found a nice trip setup for$299 but it is a blemish...

honestly I would look at the classifieds on here. You can get a pro board and bindings thats only been used a season or two easily for $300. A buddy of mine got a 07 140 hyperlite imperial with 07 Ronix Covin boots for like $325.

sk, more often than not the average person won't identify the blem.

Jeff, that is good news. I think the trip w/ domain bindings seems like a great deal but I was jut worried the graphics were going to look like crap when it came in.

I agree with Ren you can find a pretty good deal on the classifieds here. If you were in Southern California I'd sell you one of my boards for much less than 300. I prefer the trip over the omega for sure though.

I only have 4 weeks before I go back to school so waiting on the classifieds for a deal would waste time on the water. I'm hoping to make a decision by tonight so I can be set for this weekend.

This was in Wakeworld's classifieds...pretty close to your budget.

I've got a 2007 Hyperlite Era 142 with XL bindings. This board has never hit the water. Only tried the bindings on twice. Looking for 300 + shipping. If interested email me at bstroud@blueriver.net

I decided to go with the blemish liquid force trip 138 w/ lxl domain bindings. Hopefully it will be here before the weekend. I'll get pics up when it arrives/

You should've been smart and got the combo Kane posted. Definitely a solid setup.

Good luck in your riding though!

I had already ordered the board before that time. 144 is bigger than I wanted anyways, I'm more comfortable on a smaller board. And I have read some bad reviews about boardersmall.com. That deal would have come out to over $300 after shipping since you don't get free shipping on closeouts.

Call local shops and ask about 07's in stock. I got my HL Murray with LF Alpha bindings for under $300 at the local boat show. BTW, i am a noob too and I love my board. I am 200 lbs, not sure why people list height, doesn't really matter.

Now that you've made your decision, you'll love it. The Trip is the board I learned on, a great all around board...my advice when you get it...don't even start riding with the center fin, just leave it off.

Good luck with your setup SK.

I've dealt with boardersmall a few times now and never had any problems, and I've had quiet a few issues with buywake, mainly caused by Fedex in truth, but as they do not ship with anyone else I've taken my business to boardersmall, and a number of boards, bindings and ropes and handles later (I pick out and order my friends gear also) no problems :-)

UPS stopped by today with the trip. I must say, I am very happy with my purchase. The domain bindings seem pretty sick. I had ordered a blemish and I can't find a single thing wrong with the appearance, definitely worth the $50 savings. I set up the bindings, I still have to mess with the duckfoot angles to find something I'm comfortable with. I'm gonna keep the fins on for the first run and then I'll take them off. One thing I'm unsure about are the thumb screws holding down the bindings. I'm wondering how tight I should make them. Anyways, here are some pics as promised...

Looks good man, thanks for following up with your thread, always great to see the end result. As for the thumb screws, I always have had 'screwdriver' screws and I crank them down as tight as possible (within reason of course). I would say crank 'em down as tight as your hands can make them, and as long as their is no 'play' in the bindings, you're good to go. If they still wiggle, you might want to pull out a pliers to get them tigher, IMO.

Set up looks nice. I will add to what Loren said, after your first few sets, check the thumbscrews again. I have seen them loosen up after hard riding. Check them periodically after that too (beginning of every outing)

Ya, I guess they have the screws have their advantages and disadvantages. Easy and quick to adjust setup but also have the possibility of loosening up. Anyways, I haven't really seen any reviews of the domain bindings so I will try to get something up of what I think of them after I get them in the water saturday.

Welcome to the Liquid Force family :-)

The trip is a fun board and will allow you progression for a good while.

As others have said check your thumbs screws periodically and get them good and snug.

Have fun with your new set up!
