Hey I was just wondering if charges were ever filed in that case where that kid on the delta hit the tow rope and was choked to death? Does anyone have any inside? Someone said on the previous thread called "is it true?" that they thought charges could possibly be filed against the boat driver?

Likely, since he was towing a boarder in the dark. The PWC rider was also at fault, but he paid the ultimate price. But that still opens up the guy driving the boat, who knows, maybe man slaughter charges. But I have never heard one way or the other. But you can count on it eventually happening. He was breaking the law and it resulted in someone losing their life, Just like if you were speeding down the road and plowed into someone, or was drunk and ran into a pedestrian J walking. You are screwed!

It was not on the Delta. It was on a lake.

you can find the article somewhere in the archives. Dood was jumping the wake behind his buddies boat (on a PWC). The ski rope was still out. When he jumped the wake the rope caught his neck. When he went down the rope was around his neck and crushed his wind pipe.

That's right my mistake, it was at New Melones. Yeah I was hoping that someone that was involved may read this thread and update us. It's definately a strong message to all riders and boat owners as far as boating safety is concerned.
