lugging engine

Motor gurus, I have a 04 toyota taco with the 3.4 liter V6 MT. I don't pull anything with it but I was curious about the harm of running at low rpms and possibly lugging it. It never gets below 1k but I have a habit of shifting early @ around the 2k mark. It's geared rather low 4:10 I think and is a pretty torquey motor. Any advice, opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

My buddy has a 06 Tacoma with the 3.4 and we tow our 94 Malibu Echelon with it. It does alright. I also tow it with my 01 Dodge Dakota with the 4.7 V8. I out tow him for sure, but the Toyota is not bad. Don't shift so low man... shift at like 3000 or 3500 rpm. You will have so much more power when you go to the next gear. If you tow with the Tacoma, just Rev it higher before you shift otherwise you will really lug the engine.
