Stern light 2001 X-Star (and how to get info other

Other than calling your local dealer, how do you find out the proper replacement part for your boat? Is there a direct line to MC for this?
For example, I need to replace the stern light on my 2001 X-Star. Boatersworld.com has a Perko - Reduced Glare Stern Light Pole - 42'' Pole. Its the right length, but neither Perko nor BoatersWorld can tell me if it will replace the 2001 X-Star pole (which looks like the Perko).
Anyone know if this light will work?

I got mine at the Dealer, its the 42 inch and it was universal. I think I paid $30

Found one via BoatersWorld.com. Only 19.99 and it looks like an exact replacement.
