How to Stitch?

So I have a Canon Powershot A640 Camera and its not a SLR, but it does have a burst mode setting, What I am wondering is how i would go about stitching all the pictures of someone jumping wake to wake?? Is there a program you can buy or download? Right now it just takes individual shots in a sequence, I want to be able to blend them all into one...I think you can do this without having a true SLR?? Help me please!
