i know it sounds kinda crazy but i've been riding the same board for both boat and rails. my board of course gets beat up on the rails but i can still ride it behind the boat.

just wondering if anyone does the same and if it takes too much abuse. i plan on buying a new board next year anyway.

my board doesn't have a grind base but it has removable fins and it has mini steps, not channels. so its actually made to hit sliders... it just doesn't have a grind base.

If it doesn't have a grind base, it's not designed to hit sliders. Removable fins and steps do not make it for sliders. Basically you are going to tear apart your board and need a new one. Simply put fiberglass and rail materials do not play well.

Another thing to think about is how much fun flex is on the rails. I use a Vibe and while it still get beat up, it has handled the abuse much better than a traditional board.

I use my slingshot recoil for everything
Boat/Wake - Winch - Cable - Rails

Slingshot's base + predictable flex patters + ABS sidewall = AMAZING all around board that is tough as nails
