Hey guys, just got my brand new set of speaker sox in and i have to say im really impressed. they fit perfect, and they look awesome. so awesome in fact that i was thinking about leaving them on when we are riding. is anyone else leaving there's on and will it affect the sound of the speakers??? kind of a dumb question i know, but any help would be greatly appreciated. and like i said before, MAD PROPS to Jim and the guys at speakersox. they were quick to reply to emails and they had a really fast turn around. if you got tower speakers i highly recomend these guys!

Funny, I just spoke with these guys yesterday about getting covers for my speaks and racks. Good guys. I had some on my old boat and on the odd occasion left them on without realizing. In the end I didn't even notice them. If you have a relatively good system you won't notice the difference that much.

I haven't towed with mine yet, but while we have a thread started Im going to give my shout out to these guys too. Perfect fit for my board racks and will be purchasing some more for my other accessories.

I left mine on all the time. They fit like a glove and they don't affect the sound at all. Jim does a great job and customer service is 1st class.

I towed to Shasta from S. Cal and back and they worked great. Got them to keep the bugs off. Just made sure to double tie the knot. Sound exactally the same with the socks on. Nice stuff!

I never take mine off, it doesn't affect the sound at all, unless you got the genuine cow hyde leather ones.

I will definetly 2nd the customer service. Awesome!!!!
I got mine 2 weeks ago . They look awesome. They had a special going on for a free mirror cover. They even put a boat logo on. It looks awesome. Big props to those guys!!!
I'll have to post some pics with them on. I doubt they'll affect the sound. I'm towing from florida to georgia in a few weeks (love bug central) so they should be great to keep the bugs off.

Any fabric over a speaker will affect how it sounds.
The speakersox material is thin, it affects the high frequencies. Makes it a hair darker... May not be a bad thing depending on your speakers.. The wetsounds sound ok with them covered, but they're a bright speaker... The difference is very subtle...
Not sure how the highs would affect projection though...

I've had the speakersox for a couple years now and they are the best thing ever when traveling! Good investment!

Thanks for the reminder, I need to call Jim for the new setup

Hey Kevin,

Yea I was good friends with Corey since high school. The only vid I have of him is on the DoubleUp Experience. I'm trying to find a way right now to transfer it from VHS to DVD. Once I do I'll let you know.

So you spend a ton of $$$$ to cover them up while your on the water? doesn't make sense to me? but whatever...
i do love the sox though, keep the speakers clean while towing and jim's service is great.

Kevin what you heard is true. He got knocked out on a fall and wasn't wearing a vest. I believe they where at that lake for a stop on the doubleup experience tour.
