flexboard for me?

so im thinking of getting a new board soon and i kinda have the urge to move to a flex, preferably a company but im not sure which model. anyways, i live in san marcos now and ride tsr a lot and flex seems like the way to go for cable. but i will live back home during the summer and the holidays and plan on riding boat a ton. I would like to get a board that would satisfy both cable and wake. So my question is, how do you guys like riding your flex boards behind the boat? Is it harder to do your tricks? Do you think flex is more fun than a standard board? I know flex is perfect for cable, plus i they dont tear up. Im just not sure how i will like it on the boat....help me out

i like my slingshot recoil on the cable more than any other board....

and about 1000 times more than any other board behind the boat....its sooooo much fun, it will make wakeboarding more fun in everyway.

i rode a flex board for the first time on saturday. i rode the company severence. fell in love with it. i ride a lyman normally. and the severence is 10 times better. way more pop. way softer landings. i ride a 139 normally. and i rode the 38 severence. i think the 42 would be alot better. i would size up for sure.
i thought i might like flex, but i couldnt believe how much i love it. the severence is my next board for sure

Company's awesome, for sure, but check out the 2010 Slingshot response. It is without a doubt the sickest board ever. Super fun to slaysh around, great presses, FRT, more durable(trust me I've seen em pound concrete and keep going), and SS's warranty department is bar none. Can't go wrong. Just ask McKee...

Often overlooked is the Sine. If you can get your hands on one for a demo you'll be very impressed. The landings are the softest of any board made.

+1 for the severance. I LOVE my severance. It is seriously everything I ever wanted in a wakeboard. I use mine at OWC and behind the boat. Really brought the fun back to wakeboarding for me. Stoked on Co!

shredtowns right i bought my slingshot response a couple weeks ago after going through 2 hyperlite 3ds boards and it is the best. ride alot behind the boat and then i just take my fins off at the cable. its not really a hassle taking the fins on and off either, some people use the fins at parks too though

thanks guys so yeah.. my real question is really just about how they take it behind the boat. Thats really where i want my riding to progress i just happen to be riding a ton of cable now. But it sounds like a lot of guys are moving to flex even behind the boat. Its definitely between company and slingshot. i have heard a ton of good things about slingshot, seems to be the hot new thing in wakeboarding. but for some reason i dont really see them often around at tsr everyone is riding company (probably because thats what they carry in the shop) but yeah more input on your flex experience behind the boat with details!!!!

Slingshot has thhhhheeeee best warranty dept ever, not that you will break something, but it doesn't really matter, because they'll make it right.

At mccormicks yesterday and 98 percent of the folks there were riding slingshots. The few that didn't had lf flex boards.

I had been riding a Watson for the past three years and thought about trying a flex board. I just got an 09 recoil, rode it twice and am now selling the Watson and will never look back. The recoil is by faaaar the most fun board I have ever ridden behind the boat. It boosts so so soooo big and lands even softer. I am bummed it took me so long to try one.

i just got my 2010 141 reflex the other week, my lil brother was soo stoked that he opened it, set it up with his transits and took it out with his buddys(behind a boat) saturday. but what really ticks me off is that he tossed the box along with the warranty info paperwork(trash man already picked it up)! you SS guys have any recommendations as to register my board for warranty? does slingshot even require that like the other board companys? sorry i know its off topic but i know i got pretty big crowd of SS peeps here already

again i ride the 2010 ss response 142 on boat and cable and it is better than any standard board ive ever, ridden. and alot of people are using the 2010 henshaw flex board now too.

DC - I've had stuff replaced via warranty several times without filling out one of those cards. I'm sure it's more for research purposes than anything else.

DC, you don't have to worry. Kyle will hop on here and confirm, but don't worry about registering. unless somethings changed that I don't know about, if you ever have a problem with your board, just email kyle, and he will take care of you directly. He's a busy man, but he does a great job!

Yea they will take care of you if any thing happens to the board. I love my recoil and I let any one that will fit into the bindings ride it. I have not had one person say they did not like the board and 4 of my friends will only ride my board now.

Stop in the shop at TSR and they should let you try out a Company Deck anytime. They have a demo board we sent there for people to ride. Take it for a spin and see how you like it. They are even more fun on the boat.

Nick got me on a slingshot recoil and I love it!!! So light too so make sure you up size. I will tell you its a lot looser than my Ibex was which was loose. So you have to learn how to edge!!!!! Have not ridden without fins. They are smaller fins and are approved for rail riding they are plastic.

Stephen, If you ride the wake only DONT DO IT!!!! I broke out my old Waketech Byerly the "blue one" and tail pressed that thing like an SS i am not sold on it....

jim you can tail press anyboard. Just cause you can do that doesnt mean the board has the characteritics of a broken board. Its defintley not as soft nor as flexible as most people think. Its not a snowboard

Haha, Jim, we're not necessarily trying to sell you on anything. I started riding my Slingshot before I hit any rails or anything. I would hope that you're not buying a flex to tailpress the water, but more for the pop, and super soft landings, and cause flex is just fun! If you're not sold, don't go for it.

I have a 2010 recoil how much of a difference is the response? Anyone ride both? I picked the recoil because it was a bit stiffer and more the boat board from SS. Nick helped me out and am real happy. Just wonder how much of a difference there is.

I rode the Recoil for the past couple years and switched to the Response this year to ride a bigger board. I honestly couldnt feel a difference between the two boards.
