Did everyone see the date and venue change? I love that little lake and with it all reserved, no rollers to contend with!!!!!!! :-)

From the email:

We are extremely excited to announce the 2007 World Wake Surfing Championships ® (WWSC), presented by Skylon and towed by Centurion Boats, will be returning to its roots for the event’s sixth anniversary! It all started with a single vision of uniting the growing community of landlocked wakesurfers for a competitive event in 2002, but on August 24th, 25th & 26th, 2007, wakesurfers will gather again on Lake Yosemite in Merced, California to show the world how far it has come over the past 5 years!

Finally!! lol.

We've been trying to get some answers on Boardstock and the WWSC this year for months now. Thanks for the info Jeff (also got a link from Kayce). I see AWSA is sponsoring, good job. Looking forward to a fun & fair competition in August and some GREAT weather.

Any ideas about where to stay nearby the venue?

Also is San Jose airport the closest large airport?
Thanks

san jose or san francisco. they are about the same distance to the lake.
there are a few hotels in the area about a couple of miles away from the lake.

We dont really have hotels as much as Motels here in Merced. But the Coutyard (dont remember havent been on that side of town for a while) is the newest probably most comfy. Also try calling up Merced Parks and rec they may let you camp at the lake. I know on special events they have done this. Depending on where you come from you can fly into Fresno International Airport but for budget and time on the road try to go to Sac Int. its about a 2hr drive down 99 from there maybe a bit more.

If you're looking for travel arrangements, check out: http://www.TravelJon.com for flights, hotels, car rentals, etc. All rates are very competitive, feel free to compare with other sites if you want. 9 times out of 10, this site is less with fees and taxes included (the subtotal, not just the advertised price).

All proceeds from travel to/around Merced, CA will be donated to helping a wakesurfer from WakeWorld get to the World's competition.}
