what do they mean by "other"?

by far the largest response to this poll http://www.wakeworld.com/contests/2004/premier.asp was the "other" choice. what other things are folks looking for in a wakeboarding film?

To me I think it means a combination of all plus music. Sfumato and Mayday are my favorite vids cause they incorporate most of the above.

I have seen Sfumato probably 20 something times (I know I need a life) and I am still amazed by it. The music, editing, riding, all with a low key, humble attitude. It's the vid I would show people who are not in the sport.

hmm, perhaps the question should have been something like "what's most important to you in a wakeboard/wakeskate film"?

btw, im just curious myself about what folks are looking for. i had nothing to do with this poll. i didn't vote in it and in fact until this article showed up on the front page i never even saw it.

Christopher, While each of the listed components has it's own appeal, none really stand alone. Add wake / D.U. tricks and soundtrack. Think judging - The video should be rich in Execution, Composition, and Intensity.

i would say 'i don't care just show me riding' and leave out the 'lifestyle' and 'effects' unless you count the slow motion as an effect

Seeing a video with other riders is very important. A bit tired of the same ol seven or eight.

In the original poll, people could pick Other then fill out the box to enter anything they didn't find in the list. So there were a lot of these "freestyle" entries, but, obviously, I couldn't include them on the results.

I said "other" because i like to see riders and tricks/sliders that are pushing the sport or that just go huge. I would rather see Parks hit a bad @$$ slider just once or Murray do a huge double-grabbed off axis 7 only one time than a whole bunch of riders just doing normal sized tricks. Anyone can do a 540, but how many people can make it look as cool as the Vandall.
