hey guys, i have an 87 crestliner outboard, and last weekend, we were boarding for about 15 minutes when we the rider fell and we came around to get them. as soon as we were gunna get the rider back up, the driver put the boat in reverse to get some weeds out of the prop, and then back to neutral, the motor just died. we couldnt even get the motor to turn over or anything. the trim didnt even work, but the horn and everything else worked, anyone have this problem before? if you have, help me out here thanks.

You've probably already found the problem, but this sounds a lot like a loose battery cable or a bad/dead battery. It's not uncommon for accessories that require low amps (Hirns, bilge pumps, etc.) to work while larger stuff like trim and starter motors won't work.
