Maybe 4 balls at 36 mph at some line length. Or if the number is different say 435 it could be 4 at 35 off.

Jamie Beauchesne ran 2@43 off to break the record but I believe it is still pending. The old record was 1.5@43 by Chris Parrish.

All men's records are at 36 mph for open skiing. Non open skiers over the age of 35 run 34mph max as do womens.

Just to give you the idea, a beginning competitive skier would ski between 26 and 30mph at 75 feet of rope. The 'off' terminology is how many feet are off the full line (75 feet), so 43 off is 32' feet of rope, less distance than from the turn ball to the boat path.

Nick do you know if Jamie's 43 was approved? Last I heard it is still pending because either they lost the boat path video or they never had it. And if there is no boat path video it won't get approved.

Well Ryan you never specified which record you wanted to know about so I just needed clarification. Sorry, just being a smart ass.

My goal was to get into 22off this season but alas, 15 is still putting up a fight. It just gets easier after 15 right Nick?

Have you tried 22' at all? I always joke that I probably couldn't even run 15' off anymore. My opener is 22' 36 and feels easier than 15 to me. I think once you are a good skier, 22' is probably the easiest pass to run. 28' is about the same, just faster. 32' and above get harder. 35' is my nemesis right now.

Not sure on the Jamie record. I haven't kept up with the competitive side enough lately. Beach would probably know if he happens upon this thread.

Jamie's record couldn't be approved as the Malibu Open could provide no end of course video to determine the boat path... I've heard several reason, ie. camera didn't record, video was lost or misplaced, and no tape was in camera?

Nick is right, 22 is easier than 15... Just give it a try...
