I'm gonna be getting new wheels for my boat trailer, planning on replacing the white spoked wheels with some kind of chrome wheel, to kinda match the wheels on my blazer and look nicer. I was lookin on ebay but have mostly seen the painted wheels or galvanised. Do trailer wheels have somethign special about them, or can I use wheels made for a automobile with the correct bolt pattern and offset or do I hafta get special "trailer" ones. The boats a 19 foot I/o prolly weights around 3000-3500 im guessing

I have been looking at the same thing. You can get regular wheels made for automobiles, but have to make sure you match the offset and the bolt pattern like you mentioned. Typically that will be a wheel made for a rear wheel drive automobile... Make sure if you get new tires they have the right ply and can support the weight. That is where it gets a little more difficult to find what you are looking for...

The rims do not have to be any special thing as long as the bolt pattern and offset are similar. But you need to put trailer tires only on the rims. There is no substitute.

I believe most standard trailer wheels are 5 on 4.5". There a couple vendors on e-bay that sell sets of aluminum trailer wheels, not spokes, holes.

I might be interested in one of your takeoffs for use as a spare if it's cheap.
