Where are you going to ride this summer if the "Butte" becomes a river. I heard there will be plenty of rideable water until after the 4th of July, but then it will be drained untill its a river with some big ponds!!!!

We went to Conchas, Navajo, and Ute a lot last season. I drove the boat onto a sand bar in the middle of the north end of the Butte and have decided not to go back.

Yeah I think we'll head to Conchas a lot this season. I've never been to Navajo what's it like? I know they have a lot of the water that used to be in the Butte because of that damn silvery minnow. Have you ever been to Sumner Lake? It's small but the cove by the dam is always protected so you can ride even when it windy.

I wish we could build some sliders at Ute in the hidden cove where the slalom course is set up. I don't think the State Parks is too hip to wakeboarding down there though.

Are their board shops in NM? When I was there I couldn't find any.

There's a few.

Albuquerque has a shop called the Beach Zone.
Elephant Butte has a hyperlite dealer at Cobalt of NM. I think there is also a boardshop in Farmington. Some of the marinas carry wakeboards and gear, but not a huge selection.

Navajo's a beautiful lake (it's been referred to as a mini Powell), but the channels are narrow, so we have to get out early on the weekends; weekdays are sweet. Also, the camp grounds are about 1/4 mile from the boat ramp.
