I'm wondering what the best way is to weight a SAN 230? I've got a demo lined up, and the dealer said he had a few more sacks to fill up on top of the factory ballast. However, I'm a stickler for getting the absolute biggest/cleanest wake as possible, and would like to hear how some of you weight yours.

I put 2 600's in the back lockers, a 400 in the walkway as far front as I can get it and 400 lb of lead in the nose! 23-23.5 mph. That's the best I've gotten mine!!

I just put my 2003 V230 in the water for the 1st time yesterday. I was noticing that the rear already sinks pretty low and that I definitely need to add some weight to the front. For some reason I had to use a lot of steering wheel to move the boat around, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I'm coming from a 21.5" direct drive that was super nimble, I think it may just take some getting use to driving a 23' V-drive.

Shaun Murray shared with me the following about the 230:

"Stock plus 450's on each side of the engine. Triangle sac in teh front but not full and about 1500 in lead in the seating area. That boat is all about weighting the middle of it down. If you put too much weight in front and rear it will teeter totter and if there is too much in the bow it will curl over."

Hope that helps!
