Interesting pics on the site.

Where does the seat go in this picture? That looks like a big piece of seat to have to move everytime.

I do like the cupholder on the transom, pretty sweet.

That is a sweet looking boat and the Price seems GReat. However I am a wake man. I wonder how the wake is??

evilone, you don't have to take the bottom part of the seat off to put boards in there. you just hvae to open the back rest part. that area is big enough to slide surfboards and wakeboards into. they just pulled that seat out to show that it does come out so if you have the surfboards that are HUGE(6 footers) can fit. i wanted to sack out the boat at the dealer meeting but forgot to take my sacks with me. when i get one in here at the shop i'm giong to take it out and put 2000+lbs in it. but that wont be antill about mid winter.

sorry to let you guys down but there wont be any wake pics any time soon. they've only made 3 so far and i think tige is keeping them to take to shows and to shoot catalog pics with. they're putting it into production in around a month or so. it takes about 6 weeks to build one too so you wont see them at your dealers antill around the boat show season. the wake was good when i rode it. its probably tige best all around boat. it throws a great wake, geart surfwake (only had the port side ballast full(about 350lbs) and 4 guys on that side) and unweighted with taps at 1 i'm sure it'll put out a ski able ski wake.

Ryan what wake would you compare it to? So far most of the Tige wakes I have seen are very rampy, but I have not seen a Tige with alot of ballast.
Old     (26lacefield)      Join Date: Aug 2006       09-24-2007, 6:51 PM Reply
i would compare it too the 22ve. it felt like the 22ve but just a little narrower. 22ve(102in beam)Z1(100in beam)

Hey Ryan - I agree with your comment on the wake, I thought it was a little narrower than the 22 but the overall shape was better than the 20v.

One of the easiest "build your boat" systems on the Tige website. Quick and easy to mess with color options.

I really like the way that boat looks. I do wish it had a 3 piece motor cover though.

Plus why are the cup holders on the floor?
Old     (timmyb)      Join Date: Apr 2007       09-26-2007, 5:55 PM Reply
All Tige's have the cup holders on the floor.

check out the cup holders on the activity center(rear of the boat were you sit when putting the board on) thats pretty cool to have to 2 of them back there.

wheres the engine cover gone in the pic where she's putting the board in the rear locker? Surely it's not a side opening one????
Old     (dgunthert)      Join Date: Mar 2007       09-27-2007, 9:26 AM Reply
Brit, it's just a two piece cover. One side covers half the engine, one side covers the other half.
Old     (26lacefield)      Join Date: Aug 2006       09-27-2007, 9:30 AM Reply
for the rear storage covers and engine cover its a 2 peice cover. you open up one side to get something out of the storage and theres half the motor. some people might not like it but i think its kind of cool. at least like this theres not a chance for the motor cover to pop up while towing it and get riped off from the force of the wind lol i've seen it happen. and for people that will be working on their own boats it leaves a big area to access the motor. i know i'll like that part of it.

I think too many get caught up in the whole no ballast thing... There is a lot more that goes into creating a big wake than ballast. The hulls tapered meaning it slopes up at the aft portion. Having dealt with aerodynamic lift surfaces, and understanding the effect of such, the exact opposite is true with the tapered hull. This taper creates a nose high attitude sinking the boat further into the water increasing aerodynamic drag, in effect reverse lift pulling the boat into the water. A lot of research has gone into the hull design and its patented meaning no other manufacture can duplicate the exact design. Many other boats are ski hulls with wedges and ballast used to create a nice wake.

I would put up a 22v with no ballast against an x-30 fully weighted any day, and you would be hard-pressed to tell a difference.

"Many other boats are ski hulls with wedges and ballast used to create a nice wake"

This might be one of the silliest posts on this forum yet... The tige is a crossover boat, that is the way they are marketed. Other manufactueres actually develop specific wake hulls for their boats, they have other hulls for skiiing and for crossover.

every Tige around here has ballast in it and alot of it. If they want a wake.
Old     (frr)      Join Date: Oct 2007       10-13-2007, 11:07 AM Reply
True, note I compared apples to apples 22v to an x-30 both crossover boats.

Now an x-star vs. a 22v is a laughable comparison.

No one commented on the blonde hottie in the pic? Forget the Z1, where do I get one of those!

Nu, are all the other guys so mesmerized by the Z1 that they didn't notice her?! If Tige can guarantee I can scoop hotties like her, I'll buy one!

The Tige website now offers the Z1 in the Build-A-Boat option, and they look great. One of the best looking boats I've seen in a long time. Nice work Tige!!!

I'm not sure I like it with the one color hull; black on just the front and white 2nd/bottom. I think it's better in two colors like the navy/yellow they show on the site. Maybe reversed, black on the bottom with a white front. Thoughts about color combinations?

every time i see Tige's new(er) hard edge styling, it reminds me of what Triumph did with their motorcycles a few years back. Wasn't a big fan of it back then, still not...
