As you guys already know, I've got a 2004 wakesetter XTI (no pics yet, sorry). It didn't have perfect pass and after being dragged around the lake at anywhere from 10 to 35mph by my roommate, I decided that I am going to go ahead and get the perfect pass wakeboard pro edition.
Does anyone know the best way to go about getting it? Should I talk to a dealer or just get it off their website? How about installation - I am a "technical" person and can follow directions pretty well - but I dont want to jack up anything...
Any advice or thoughts are (as always) greatly appreciated! Thanks...
Super easy to install. ESPECIALLY on a 2004. It will plug right in with minimum or no wiring.
Call Perfect Pass and ask them about installation on your boat. They will suggest a well performing area on your boat. I would do this prior to purchasing the system.
The hardest part is drill a 2" hole in the bottom of your baby. Just be carefull.
I just bought mine a couple weeks ago right from PP website, installed myself. But I already had the paddle wheel in my boat. Didn't have to drill a hole Install was a breeze. Especially if you are a technical person, it's a snap. Tested it this weekend and had no problems. Just need to calibrate it with my friends GPS. Definitely worth it. Good luck. Get with me if you have any troubles or questions on the install as I just went through it.
I second ordering it from PP themselves. You might get a markup for shipping or whatever if you order through a dealer. Installation was a snap. I have a carburated Mercruiser 350 and had no issues.
I just installed PP Wakeboard Pro in an 04 Wakesetter. I can walk you through exactly how to do it.
1) Hook up power & Ground 2) Install Servo on throttle cable 3) mount Brain Box 4) Run cables 5) Plug RPM into the already stubbed out RPM connector 6) Plug Paddle wheel into already Stubbed out Speed Wire 7) Remove Tach, replace with PP head unit.
I was going to snap some pictures and do a write up for it. Perhaps I'll do that Saturday. Install is a easy. Search around on the internet, you can find it for $1080.
Quick PP question...I recently upgraded my '01 SAN from Cruise to Wakeboard Pro and last weekend I was playing with it and I get the audible "beep" at the correct speed but the system doesn't lock on that speed. It seems to keep increasing speed or decreasing depending on what I do manually. The boat is stock (no ballast filled) and I breifly played with the kdw and nn settings, but wasn't even getting close. Any idea's? Sorry for the hijack...it really is a simple install, even if you have to drill for the paddle wheel as I did.
Craig, Thanks for the install walk-through! Where is the Speed Wire located? I'm also wanting to install a depth finder - are there already places for those type of devices in the hull?!?

The Speed wire is, (I think) a Blue wire with a female connector that's either behind the instrument cluster, or bundled together near the harness that runs through the dash behind the insruments. RPM is solid grey in the same area. Look really hard for them - it took me over an hour to find them because they were bundled so tightly.
