I figured it would be around there since the hybrid was about 120k. Didn't expect them to make it cheaper then since your investment is in the boat and not in gas with each use.

Personal opinion, I am not to sure there is enough environmental savings to combat the 150k price tag. People forget that to produce/recycle these batteries, plus the more limited runtime/end of life versus a standard combustion engine is a major minus for this type of technology. It is probably best if people look towards diesel engines to power the new bad ass boats. Mastercraft has the new VW diesel that people should take interest in.

I saw the new epic all electric at the epic headquarters in carlsbad the day they were getting it ready for transport to germany for the boat show. its pretty impressive to see all the batteries and watch the electric motor run in person, its rediculously quiet and the power of that thing is awesome. the price is high but that is to be expected with anything that is so new. I was talking to the guys at epic and they were saying that one of the big markets for these boats is in europe where gas is much more expensive and many lakes have restrictions on gas powered boats, some to the point where you need $100k permit to run a gas boat. in comparison maybe the boat will be aseen as more reasonable in that market.

I heard they sold well in Germany at the boat show.

^ I imagine Europe will be a good market with the price of gas... the US, maybe not as much

It usually breaks down to like $5 to charge enough for a cycle. Obviously more if you do it with a generator. So $5 compared to closer to $100 in gas that it usually costs me to operate my boat for 10 hours, I'm going to call it free.

I saw this boat in person at Dusseldorf. I really like the idea, but I wasn't impressed about the general quality of the 21Se Epic. It really shocked me, because I had high expetations. The 23V looked a lot better.

But cheers to Epic for persuining the idea. I think it is great to have a hybrid or Electric Wakeboard Boat!!

Could you imagine the chaos that would ensue after you drop your epic in a pristine mountain lake surrounded by camp grounds and fisherman, that has a non-gas motor rule?
Crank up the tunes and ride w/full ballast all day?
Would be entertaining to say the least.
