last year i hit a sumerged log and tore off one tracking fin(just pulled 1 bolt through)
well last week a sumerged stump tore it clean off and bent the other. being a v-drive out comes the gas tank again, some interior, bud light & fiberglass repair kit.
becouse i orderd 2 new fins could i trim the slightly bent fin in half and install in front to help protect them from getting knocked off again?
has anyone done this?

How do you tear off the skegs and not totally destroy shaft, prop and rudder?????

Consider yourself lucky--I have a friend that hit submerged wood, lost all of his tracking skegs, which formed a gigantic hole. His boat sunk to the rails in about 45 seconds...

rod, i was going less than 5 mph, wedge was down also... just lucky, you said it whit!
btw dealer says it would void the warranty, selling this one to purchase a 04 lsv and don't want to screw the new owner.
