last year i hit a sumerged log and tore off one tracking fin(just pulled 1 bolt through) well last week a sumerged stump tore it clean off and bent the other. being a v-drive out comes the gas tank again, some interior, bud light & fiberglass repair kit. becouse i orderd 2 new fins could i trim the slightly bent fin in half and install in front to help protect them from getting knocked off again? has anyone done this?
Consider yourself lucky--I have a friend that hit submerged wood, lost all of his tracking skegs, which formed a gigantic hole. His boat sunk to the rails in about 45 seconds...
rod, i was going less than 5 mph, wedge was down also... just lucky, you said it whit! btw dealer says it would void the warranty, selling this one to purchase a 04 lsv and don't want to screw the new owner.
