I can't comment on the 1.4, but have the1.8, works pretty good in low light, seems to really "hunt" for focus is my only complant with it. For less them $100 it's a real good lens to have in your bag.

I have the 1.8, and after using the 1.4 i would say do it. 1.4 is so worth it.

good call on the 1.4, I found the same thing as Randy the 1.8 was "hunting" for focus a lot. The 1.4 is great, you'll really enjoy it.
