Does any body use some kind of tower prop or support?
I have a Wakesetter DD and when i fold my tower down to fit in the garage the speakers on the tower hit the motor box!
I need some good ideas to build a support out of wood and maybe carpet it.
send pics if possible.

What I do is tie up the tower to a hook in the ceiling. With a prop you would not be able to use your cover and it is in the way when working on the boat.

I fold mine down till it almost hits on the boat and use tie straps back to the tower where it connects on both sides. The straps hold the tower off of your boat.

i built something out of a 2x4 and covered it with carpet to use while in storage and while trailering. i can take pictures and post them on tuesday. the one piece lays across the bow from one side to the other. then, i took a circle bit and drilled a circle the the center of a little piece, cut that in half to make a half circle (looks like a skateboard ramp) then mounted that piece to the original 2x4. the tower lays perfectly into the half circles. took me about 30 minutes to make.

I built this wood contraption to hold my tower securely in place. Took about 15 minutes to build. I towed all the time with the tower folded.

I built 2 tower props for mine. One for each side. It holds the tower up and off the gelcoat so I can get it in the garage. It takes about 15 minutes, a saw and some wood screws. I even made mine out of scrap wood from an old futon. Talk about a cheap project.

Oh yeah, when ever you are thinking about doing something to your boat, you should post it here, because someone has probably already done it and can provide some great ideas you may not have thought about. I love this site!!!!

Thanks for the info.
I'am going to build two supports out of wood, because I have to take out the pivot bolt on the tower so it will clear the garage door.
Yes I need an extra 1.5" to clear the door, its very tight.
