Check out the fifth installment of our Blown ACL series that we just posted today. Marty talks about his knee brace and getting it fit.

I wear a CTi2 brace for a PCL and MCL partial tear. Insurance paid for everything and it ran about $2200. I wear it for wakeboarding and wakeskating. As long as I put it on correctly, it doesn't bother me at all. The knee braces sold for skiing and wakeboarding that are just a neoprene wrap won't do much to prevent injury. If your knees aren't messed up I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you have good medical insurance.

Check out the Cell brace by Asterisk. It is a motorcross brace, but has a custom fit and will take to the water fine. I wore mine for about 3/4 of a season, 3 to 4 days a week while riding - it held up great. I was having problems with one of my knees hyperextending, this brace took care of that problem and offers support elsewhere too.
