Hot Rod Van? - Non-Wakeboarding Discussion

Hey everyone, I am involved in a competition build off thing. I work at Mackey's Hotrods in Huntington Beach. We are working with Hot Rod Magazine, building a '68 Chevy van. There are 2 episodes up, and 2 more being put up tomorrow. So if you like cars, or vans, or watching a fellow wakeboarder work his fingers to tiny nubs, here ya go!

Hot Rod Vans! Oh the memories. We had two vans that used to cruise when I was a kid. Both were Chevy's, prolly '75ish models. One was orange with a big and bold yellow hockey stick arrow on the side. Cragers with 60s of course! The other one that we would see was less hot rod and more custom painted though. One side had a great airbrushing of the rapture with the souls leaving earth and rising to heaven with the other side depicting earth after the rapture with all damage and ruin. Need I say Cragers.... or were they Keystones?!

Thanks for watching! I think in the next 2 episodes you should be able to see it coming together, and look more like a whole vehicle. It's been a mad 2 months filled with eat work eat work eat sleep repeat. Literally.

Love the series so far! The only group i'm not impressed with is the Porsche guys.

They are not even painting their own CAR! To me it appears all they have done is pull a motor and sit around in a room and discuss color options.

Yeah. Their public ranking shows it as well. I'm not too sure the offroad guys are painting their own stuff. Details are pretty hard to come by. We've tried getting info from the crew this whole time. All we ever got was shop names and types of cars.

I am pretty stoked on the van though. I promise, it will come around soon. Our build has a purpose, and a great charity could really benefit. All will be shown in the next 2 "webisodes". Its a freak on wheels.
