i just got a 08 Watson, should i ride it with or without the center fin?

without it feels really loose and like i have to control, with it its like riding a big truck.

should i ride it without the fin for a while until i get use to it?

Do whatever works best for you. I've always wondered how many people out there aren't riding to their full potential because they insist on riding without a center fin because that's what Watson does or because some dude on the internet told them there was "no need for a center fin on that board." Ride it both ways for a while ans see which way you like more.

If center fins were really that unnecessary, Liquid wouldn't ship them with the board.

I like the snowboard feel without the fin. Yeah, I probably don’t get as good of an edge, but I like the loose feel. I think you learn better edging technique without always relying on a deep fin. In the end, it depends on your style of riding and water condition. If you like to charge the wake or ride in chop, a fin would help.

You can also play around with the fin size. I used to have a 1.4" which was locked in and felt really goode except when trying to release the fins for riding switch, backslide, lip slide and what not. Went to a .8 and it's still got some grab, but not nearly as much as the 1.4". For me, that was the ticket. My .02.
