Both of the ramps are closed at Mendo and most people don't know where to launch off the dirt so we were the only boat on the lake all day.

Jeremy,
That is Brodie Chaboya and I'll send him a link to this thread so he can answer your question.

J-Rod,
All the shots were taken from a tube.

Nice Walt, I didn't know you had a waterproof housing, sweet pic's. btw I just saw the 70-200 F4 IS for under $1,000 on Amazon, I'm getting closer

Thanks Joe and Randy.

Randy,
I have a EWA bag. I'm not real thrilled with it right now. I was having some condensation issues with it yesterday and it cost me some good shots.

It's difficult to make adjustments and feel the shutter button too but I can work around that. I also don't like that you can't use a squeegee to swipe the lens port because there's a raised outer ring around it.

Let's see a few shots when you get your new lens.

The assault is so fun. It rides like a typical Byerly board but has a little more flex than any previous models. I still like the Monarch the best but I will be riding both from now on. The molded fins are either longer or deeper than the monarch so it's a little more grippy on the water. I would say it is in between the legacy and monarch as far as edge hold or looseness or whatever you want to call it. What other questions did u have about it Jeremy?

brodie i was just wondering how fast the board rides, and if it is more of a wake to wake board or an in between like can go wake to wake and can carry speed into the flats?

I think the new Byerly boards are faster than ever before. I think the blended 3-stage helps with speed vs. the old aggresive abrupt 3-stage of the past. I was doing w2w mostly but I also riped it out in the flats trying to go big for the camera. I really feel that the new Byerlys are way faster than any 3-stage i've ridden in the past. U gotta try this board to feel it out.

i hear ya i really wanna try the assault as well as the new bill board from ronix. right now i am riding the gb legend 142 from 07 and i love the way it carries speed into the flats but it is a little on the heavy side.

hey i go to Lake Mendocino too. i live in santa rosa. thats really is the worst part of mendo...all the people. thats crazy that you had the lake all to yourselves. did you stay on the north end or the south? it looks like the south because i see the bridge in one of the pictures. oh and the dirt ramp is on the south end...Im pretty sure...

We were on the south end in the photos. Yes the dirt ramp is by the south ramp but you have to know the right spot or your trailer will drop off into the abyss.
