I live in a fishing community so its pretty easy to get spectra. we have numerous things we could coat it with taking into account it floats most likely polypropylene. Its pretty easy to make loops with a fid for some sections. I hope this is the right forum.

Oh yeah its the way to go. Used to work at a sail boat store. made 80ft lines for $30 I used 3/16th amsteel. No one is selling the vinyl coated stuff yet by the foot. Uncoated spectra works fine though doesnt tangle much ether.
