Noti,

Haven't you heard, water like that is known to be very medicinal, and highly likely to heal all that ails a person.

Brad???

Rumor was you were locked up in some prison south of the boarder.

Driving across the floating bridge this morning at 10am-ish and I was going crazy. I hate having to work. Lake Washington was glass from the south tip to the north tip....RARE.

Tomorrow morning....GLASS (and a new board to ride)
Saturday morning....I HOPE GLASS

Yeah that is about what it looked like when I was home for lunch this afternoon. It made it very hard to go back to work. Thankfully it is supposed to be nice tomorrow as well.

You don't believe all rumors you hear, do you?

My boat's in the water and we're going out tomorrow at 6am. The water today was beautiful all day; too bad, I couldn't ride.

I was down at Canyon Lake last week learning how to ride again.

Washington looked the same between 9:30 and 12 when I was out there this morning from Rainier Beach to I-90 and back. But it was a tid bit chilly.....

It was fantastic out this morning on Lake Washington. The entire lake was glass and except for one fishing boat, we were the only ones out. Usually we ride in the cove near my house which has protected water, but today we were able to ride long runs wherever we wanted.

My body didn't like the 5:30 alarm clock but wow, was it worth it.

Actually, there are two boats at my dock currently, my X-2 and my friend's SAN 220. What you see in the pic is my friend's 220. My X-2 is on the water, and would normally be on the lift to the right of the 220.

Eagle - thought the 210 was going to Chelan and my 211 was going there. Thought I had ya for a minute there. When's the next mid-week morning session?

Cliff - I love seeing some good Plastic Surgery. Is the MOB making it out tomorrow morning? I'll look for ya'll.

The 220 will be going to Chelan in a couple of weeks, but then the Cobalt goes in and the two skidoos will also go on their lifts. Now that is going to be an adult playground soon. No matter the water conditions, there will be something to do at that dock.

Cruise through the cut for dinner on the Cobalt, wakeskate behind the skidoos, maybe I can even borrow a skidoo to use to commute to my lake house .

Brad is right, Life is good.

John had a 210 last year but traded it at the Boat Show for a 220, as he wanted a little more room. He takes it to Chelan in a couple of weeks, soon as the water level goes up.

I'm definitely in there to have a mid week morning crew. It's a great way to start off the day. This shot, though he's a skier, tells how sweet it was when we started.

Is Thursday the day of your dawn patrol?

How do you get motivated to go to the office with that out your window? It's gotta be tough.

Eric, I have a Panasonic webcam. I forget the model, but designed for outdoor operation. (Otherwise you need to get an outdoor enclosure for your camera.) It has a built in web server and they host the image for free (on www.viewnetcam.com).

I love it.

Seattle weather has been playing this joke forever. I can't remember the last time there was a nice Sunday, but can remember plenty of miserable Sunday's followed by brilliant Mondays. I hear that this never happens in Florida.

I have yet to ride that lake and it's only 20minutes from my house. Is it like Lk. WA. and generally only rideable mornings or are evenings pretty decent there?
Old     (tcluv85)      Join Date: Jan 2004       05-08-2006, 11:16 PM Reply
For the most part, although I think Lk. Samm has better water conditions more often depending on the day, weather and wind. There are more coves to hide in on Lk. Samm. Lk Samm will calm down sooner in the evenings. Lk Samm also has smaller boats, less yachts with big wakes.
Old     (eaglejackson)      Join Date: Oct 2004       05-09-2006, 10:26 AM Reply
I concur with bsflower. I live on Lk WA so usually ride there but Sammamish has good water more often. Especially in the evening, Lk WA is choppy while Samm is rideable much more often. Sammamish is a smaller lake that's more sheltered.

Live to ride, ride to live.

I'm right in between both lakes in Bellevue and hit Sammamish more often. Like bsflower said, less big boats out there, better water, and it's also usually a few degrees warmer.
Old     (jpk)      Join Date: Sep 2005       05-09-2006, 11:28 AM Reply
Lake Sammamish is better than Lake Washington, but I don't know if that is saying much. Lake Samm gets pretty crowded whenever the weather is good and makes boarding or skiing pretty much impossible. It can also get really choppy when its breezy. Most of the pros don't like Lake Samm at all. As far as public lakes in the area go, it's pretty good. I hear Tapps might be better.
Old     (billthom)      Join Date: Apr 2005       05-09-2006, 11:57 AM Reply
Tapps gets way crowded on the weekend too....worse than Samm I think.
Old     (hdrew)      Join Date: Sep 2004       05-09-2006, 12:03 PM Reply
Just gotta get up early to get the good water. Plus you can be getting off the water before the crazy rush.
Old     (seattle)      Join Date: Mar 2002       05-09-2006, 12:58 PM Reply
Tapps flat out sucks! One trip through any location and your eating your own wakes off of the bulk heads. It's by far the most dangerous lake to be on in the summer. The Wally ratio is astronomical.

Sammamish sucks in the summer after 8:00am. We make sure we're on the lake by 5:30am and off by 8:30am on the weekends, it's the only way to get good water there. The lake is awesome in the winter.

Lake Washington is 50/50 at best in the summer. You never know what your going to get so you have to take advantage whenever the water is calm.

I think we're finally going to break down and head for Vantage on the weekends this year. When you get nine months of the lake to yourself, it's just too hard to share come summer.

HD,

Vantage is nice. You can usually find good water unless the wind is howling. The best bet is to get out on the water early before the thermals start up around noon. For as much driving around Sammamish looking for unused water in the summer, we figure we could just make the two hour drive to Vantage, and have all the good water we want. It doesn't hurt that the weather is usually about ten degrees warmer over there either.

Go to Cresent bar!!!If you're going to make the drive from Sammamish it's 30 min. farther and the river makes a nice bend there where you can ALWAYS get out of the wind. Plus there's GAS at the doc. When I lived out there, we would treck over there a few times a summer (starting now) and go until November. The water is FREEEEEEEEZING right now so bring the dry suit. but you can't beat the conditions.

There's a campground right at Cresent bar- call Select rentals ( I dont' know the number- but it's on the web) for the campground number. Select rentals is also a cool place- condos that sleep anywhere from 4-12 and they're pretty reasonable this time of year. Man I miss that place... The condos also have a pool and hot tub - that's where we used to stay when we made the trip. You will definitely NOT regret making the trip.

hey be really careful at vantage. make sure you stay upriver (north right?) from the bridge. the dam side of the bridge the water's always usually really low. REALLY LOW! trust me, i found out the hard way. ;)

i second the crescent bar tip. great place. my uncle and his wife live there. haven't been for a while, but it's on the must do list for 2007. we'd be going this year, but our 2nd kid is due in august, so only a banks lake and lincoln rock trip for us this year. roosevelt rocks too, but that's pretty much as far as banks. ahhh, houseboating on roosevelt. i'm going to miss that this year. :-( we go every year, but this year, we've got more important things to contend with. :-)

Vantage you either get great water or horrible water. I have had some unbelievable sunset sets out there before. As for staying on the up river side of the bridge, you can ride the east side of the down river side. Basically from the state park boat launch create a line straight across to the other side to stay clear of the sand bar.

I second all of you on going to Roosevelt, I love that place, that must be why we have property 1/2mile from the lake there now. I think that is the best lake in Washington as far as being able to get out, relax, and ride whenever you want due to the numerous beaches up and down the lake.
Old     (goinbigg17)      Join Date: Jul 2002       05-11-2006, 6:20 AM Reply
I was just informed of some news for lake Roosevelt. The town in which our property is in, LIncoln where the old saw mill is that you see from the river, is having condo's built in the place of the old saw mill. Sort of win lose situation for everyone. Property values are going up then, but the boat launch will be even busier! There already is no room to park your rig on just a regular weekend there.
