is it an optical illusion or is that 21V wake bigger than the 211? maybe that rider is 7 feet tall?

Jeff,

What speed and rope length are you riding at? What is your wakeplate set at?

Eric...I agree some of the other wakes look pretty massive even when compared to the slammed 211. What is deceiving about a Nautique wake is just how hard it gets. Load up a 21V with the same weight as any Nautique and I doubt there is a Pro in the world that would pick against the Natty...the wake characteristics are just so much different.

Anthony....Those pics are 75 ft I think around 24mph....Now we ride at 85ft about 25.2mph...

Luker are you serious that's 4K lbs in ballast. I would have thought it would put out a wall with that much weight.

1981 Nautique - 950 lbs

This is last season-- about 400 on either side of the engine and about 150 in the bow (950 or so total. I'm now running 600 in the bow and about 370 on either side of the engine, plus 440 in the stern if I want it-- so the wake is a little mellower and bigger :-))

About 4,200 to be exact.

1200 in the nose
2000 in the rear
1000 in the belly

The shots aren't doing it justice but here's another.

Trim that thing up Greg!! :-) It'll clean up your wake.
Old     (silvermustang35)      Join Date: Jul 2008       07-21-2008, 10:54 AM Reply
We trimmed it up to about 1/4 and it was rough in the middle, felt ripply...we had 100lbs on the left, 100lbs on the right and 100 in the ski locker. gf in the front left and driver so it leveled out, but when we trimmed it it was hard to ride directly behind.
Old     (schmo)      Join Date: Oct 2003       07-21-2008, 11:20 AM Reply
Well, you much rather have it ripply, as you put it, in the center than washed out at the top of the wake. Maybe if the rider is just learning, you would want it cleaner in the center so they can get the feel of things riding behind the boat. However, it is clear that someone is trying to jump in that picture in which case you want the wake cleaner and should sacrifice the white wash you will get in the center for the cleaner lip.

Just my 2 cents.

Ok, sounds like a plan, I'm a little more advanced than my friend (as he stays in the middle of the wake) that goes out and we usually dont adjust the trim I guess so he can keep it simple with driving. I thought with all the ripple that we had the weights wrong or that it was going to bounce around too much..I'm thinking when my fat sacs come in this week of putting 350 in the locker and 350 on the back bench area. Any suggestions? Prolly wrong thread to ask that.
