i removed the steering cable from our 99 wakesetter DD, now i need to order a new one but i dont know what to measure. do we measure just the cable? or do we measure from the end of the rack and pinion to the end of the arm that moves the rudder? somebody help please!

Measure whatever you took out end to end,And round up to the nearest foot. You would rather have it to long. it's not all that critical. You can be creative when you route it.
