05 Absolute

A dude I work with took this pic at the Irvine tour. He said he has a pic of the new Premier too but it's still on the mem stick and he left it at work.

You ever see those spy photos in car magazines where they cover half the car in black? You guys are good. We're going to have to start doing that with boards...

I think the graphics suck. What a dissapointment. Most people agree the Absolute is one of the best boards on the market, why can't CWB come up with a decent design. I'm pretty sure a 3 year old with a piece of chalk could have done just as good.

The 03 Platinum graphics are still my favorite. I liked them better than my 04.

the graphics arent too impressive i have to say. but different strokes for different folks. i dont like zippers, some people think they rock.

i thought the 134 Absolute was the best looking board of the 04 lineup. i like the design of the 04 Ab Plat, but i didnt care for the colors.

im never really impressed with the CWB graphics except for the absolute and the prodigy

i guess it is hard to please everyone and that is why CWB simplifies their designs. I guess they are going conserviative to reach a broader audience. Anyone have pics of the bottom? Tops are always simple.

I'd have to agree, I'm not liking the graphics.

i dont like them either, im going to stick with my 04

graphics are ugly. the '03 & '04 look way better.

That board looks awesome with the new Zeus's on it, but I guess it would be a lot cooler if it said Hyperlite on the board. I saw the 05' Platinum Absolute at the Kelowna Tour stop and they are the best graphics yet, plus the new shape look great.

i guess he is trying to say that most people are hyperlite fans and hate other companies even if the product is good?

who cares how it looks if it rides good...i have to say though i don't mind the graphics, but whether i hated em or not i would buy the board if it rides good

Platinum looks a little better this year but im still sticking to my current setup...maybe they want to sell more platinums so they made the graphics look really bad on the regular. It's almost as bad as the the 2004 Premier

Asthetics makes a difference. It may not be the biggest factor to some people, but it does make a difference.

That's funny because I thought the graphic looked sick in person. The picture is a little sketch and in person that thing looks tough. Especially with the new Zeus. You guys should check the 2005 it has one of the sickest graphics ever and looks crazy with the Zeus! Just wait 'til everyone rides it and then don't care what it looks like...

I agree, the 04 Premier looks like crap.

we are talking performance here. the fat and ugly girls don't perform like reef girls and the pontiac aztec wouldn't handle like a ferarri no matter what engine was in it.

think of it this way, if SANTEs only came in pastel pink, and you could paint over it, would you?

plus, being able to put an original paint job on your board is much "cooler" than any graphic. doing a crappy paint job to show that you "don't care" is even cooler than that!

The 04 HL Premier DNA will be forever known as the Pink Premier, no matter what shade of pink or fuschia it is.

i think christopher lowell would worry more about how the graphics looked than anyone. ride the board cause you like how it rides, not how it looks.

i totally agree. but you cant say "Graphics dont matter". If they didnt, we would be ridding foam colored boards.

for some people, ie my girlfriend, thats all that mattered. for other, its all about performance.

I ride a 02 Ab Plat and it is the goofiest looking thing on the lake.

i definetly ride my '04 absolute for performance but you want to ride something that somewhat has good graphics and the mold has to be tight.

I agree with Stephan... that pic does it no justice. IMO CWB is doing just fine for 05 with their graphics... The Transcend is a fine example of this, and so is the 05 Flame (04 Absolute).

Oh and Stephan... I saw a CPWSC sticker this morning. Not a daily occurence up here.

I knew that if I said anything about the graphics of this board that I would get the all too familiar response, of graphics don't matter. Although I admit I haven't seen them in person, and might actually like it if I did. The point I'm trying to make is that graphics are the consumer’s first impression of the board. Whether you admit it or not, it’s true. For example when I first saw my board, before I even bought it, the graphics are what caught my attention. It was something new, something I hadn't seen and wanted to check out. Although when I first saw it, I didn't really like the graphics all too much. It got my attention and got me to pick up the board and check it out. I thought the board would be perfect for my riding style, so I bought it, now the graphics have grown on me and I love my board.

Ok I've prepared myself. Go ahead and let the HL bashing begin.

i have to admit, i might buy the 05 zeus because of they way they look. however if I can find metal stud things I might just pimp out my '03s

woohh... 05 CWB board graphics are sick... can't wait to see the specs of the new absolute... I'm just a little worried... does anybody know if the 03 absolute or 04 flame/freedom shape will still be around in 05???
the new obrien bindings look... well... improved... I'm just wondering if they are pretty much the same bindings with flashy little shiny covers... the new footbeds sure look comfy enough...

yeah o3 abs/04 flame freedom will be around. I heard they may be taking the place of the pure which will now be the sol though, lol

I think that the 03 Absolute/04 Flame/Freedom will be the Pure. Don't quote me on that, my memory is failing me at an early age. I noticed that no one mentioned the female board in the above picture. It will be great for them with it's deep molded fins.

I saw the line up two weeks ago but can't remember, I'm dumb. I did like the new Tattoo as well, they made it much better. Supposedly the new stuff is going to start shipping in a week or two, be ready for it.

really??? ready for shipping that early... damn... that's fast... CWB really are of the game ahead updating products that often and shipping so early in the year... can't wait to see their entire 05 lineup...

so if I recap all this... the 02 absolute should be the sol, the 03 the pure, the 04 the flame... the tatoo, I don't know... probably the 04 prodigy as it was the 03 prodigy in 04... damn it's getting complicated... in a couple of years all the boards in their line up will be past and present shape of the absolute and prodigy... lol

I'm relieved that the 03 absolute shape will be back... just took a big chunk out of one molded fin on a kicker on sunday... I fixed it but it's still not as new... might get an 05 next year and keep this one for jibbing...

o5 tattoo should be available now and the 05 prodigy will have a larger rocker from what i have been told
