well get way way out of the wake. then start to edge toward the wake. ur edge should be so hard that it feels like ur playin tug-o-war with the boat. now when u hit the wake u have two options. flatten out and that will take u staight up. ro hold ur edge hard and take the roll way out and itll happen fast as hell. for the roll u want to hold the edge. i used to hit the nose alot. but if u do it enough, itll stop happenin

Bryan, are you trying to kill him?

Mike, start with an easy edge that progressively gets harder through the top of the wake. You do not need to be that far out. Edge the board up through the TOP OF THE WAKE so that it flies up and around your body. The handle is your pivot point, so keep it in close to your front hip. The farther the handle gets from you, the slower your rotation will be. If coming up short, you are probably letting your edge off a bit early, trying to flip before you get to the top of the wake, and letting your handle get away from you. Fix these and you should have it. Good luck.

Matt's right. It sounds like you are trying to flip too fast to avoid coming up short, however, this is why you are coming up short! Make sure you wait for your pop at the top of the wake and take it as big as possible. Handle placement is VERY important in all the tricks you will ever learn, just like Matt said, keep the handle oriented to your hips at all times! Good luck!
