Does anyone know what difference there will be between the 2004 and 2005 WS VLX. I have heard they are changing the hull. Anyone know anything? Thanks

Check out malibuboatowners.com

This is pasted from an article there

For the wakeboarders, a new version of the premier Wakesetter VLX has been created. This new boat is 21.5' long and features a 96" beam. It rides on a revised version of the SV23 hull that has been stretched and lengthened to fit the more generous dimensions of the new boat. The new VLX also features the same cosmetic changes popularized by the new LSV models. Expect more room, better performance and incredible wakes from the new flagship of the Malibu line.

The 2004 version of the Wakesetter VLX is still available as the V-ride and promises superior levels of performance, at a very attractive price. It comes very well equipped, but without some of the high end options and features of the new VLX to keep the price down.

My bad, it is an LSV. I've got some VLX interior photos if your interested.

That could possibly be a VLX. Both the VLX and LSV have the same gel patterns for 05'.

Dats definitely an LSV. Look at the distance from the end of the windshield to the engine cover.

Nice Monster Tower on that 05 VLX , when did they start doing custom colors?

Do the 05 have the hard ballest tanks in the front like the LSV - 800# ?

MT, I'd watch it, I think Titan was around before your company!

Steve, the boat has 4 hard tanks.

The Billet and hull colored dash looks amazing. The new blade tower is even growing on me. Looks like Malibu is making all the right moves for '05

Very nice, very nice. Anyone have input on the wake?

It's a shame the Malibu dealer in my area is so terrible. I've already put 100hrs on my X2 in less than 5 weeks. At this rate, I'll likely be ready to pick up a new boat next year, and that 05 VLX is looking pretty damn nice.

I'm anxious to hear about the wake, and pricing.

Does anyone know how much weight the ballast will be and where the tanks are located?

Nick said - "MT, I'd watch it, I think Titan was around before your company! "

Titan was around long before MT, it was kinda an inside joke (all to myself likely) as when we first came to market we got some comments about copying Titan. Their towers are sweet and if I could have bought one under $2500 here in Atlanta three years ago Monster Tower would have never happened.

The blade tower is looking incredible, that thing has some seriously new manufacturing direction for the tower market from the looks.

And I drool over the VLX as much as anyone!

Don't know the weights, but know the ballast will be 2 rear tanks, a center one in the floor and a bow tank like the lsv, i beleive it is also the same weight. Also, I heard their will be tank indicators for how full they are built into the speedometers digital gauge.

Did someone say that the '05s are 21.5'?
Old     (kstateskier)      Join Date: May 2002       06-29-2004, 11:45 PM Reply
21.5" with a 96" beam I think.

Monster, I didn't mean any offense.

Guess that means we will not be seeing any more Malibu V drives out here on Canyon. Malibu is writing themselves out with this one (21'0" max length).
Old     (wkerat)      Join Date: Sep 2002       06-30-2004, 10:10 AM Reply
i believe the v-ride is still a 21 foot boat.
Old     (sdub)      Join Date: Jan 2003       06-30-2004, 12:28 PM Reply
Yea, Bu is offering a old 04 as the v ride.
Not offering some high end features and options to keep the price down, I believe the quote was.

AND basically possibly hosing the resale of the all the 02,03 and 04 VLX owners
Old     (kstateskier)      Join Date: May 2002       06-30-2004, 12:38 PM Reply
Isn't this the same cry we heard from X-Star owners when the name was changed to X2? People are still going to buy the '02, '03, and '04 VLX's if they want all the toys. If people don't want the toys, maybe they will shell out for the V-Ride.

i can't wait to see one on the water. i'll take 3 of them!

not worried at all.
Old    mb_girl            06-30-2004, 8:09 PM Reply
If anything the older VLXs will hold better resale. There will be a lot of people out there that would rather buy a well-cared for used boat that has all of the bells & whistles than to spend the same on a new stripped down model. The '05 I-Ride is the current Wakesetter DD, '05 V-Ride is their entry level v-drive & then the VLX will have a price increase to go along with the restyled looks & other additions. I really don't think that current VLX owners have anything to worry about.

tracie you got that right, not worried at all. I hear the used x2's are up in price as well.

anyone hear anything on when the 2005's are coming out?
Old    mb_girl            07-07-2004, 7:40 AM Reply
I believe that they go into production within the next week or 2, & that dealers are taking orders for them now.

S Dub - You got da kine rig what're you worried about? I say keep the Malrig for another 5 yrs before worrying about a new one. If you still don't like your rig next year you can come up here and ride in my new one. You're always welcome.
