We are going to pull a tournament with our shops LSV and are going to step up the ballast for the Outlaw guys.

Right now we are just running the 1250 stock ballast and power wedge. The boat has the 383 Hammer Head, but stock prop.

I was thinking about adding a 750 to the front and 2 500 in the back. To bring the total up to 3,000. Add in 5 people in the boat and the power wedge.

What are other people running with their LSV's?

Do you think we will probably need to reprop?

Pull up the Wedge and add more weight?

That wake will be massive. What prop is on there right now, I'm guessing the 13.5X17.5 with the HH. You will need at least the 537, probably the 1235 with that weight. It will be one nasty wake though.

That weight setup should be nice. You will probably want to pull up the wedge with all that water ballast. How long is the run for the contest? If it's short then you'll probably want to reprop. That being said, I can plane just fine (obviously taking a little longer) with 3K in my LSV with the Monsoon.

No wedge and your wake should be near the camo bu.

I would reprop.

Here is how it was weighted for the 2005 comp.

Sac in nose, sac in front walkway, sac in front of seats, ballast full, no wedge.

I use stock 1250lbs, 440lbs in each locker, 700lb on the floor, and 2 250lb in the bow. We usually have 4 people on the boat. The wake is big.

We do need to get on plane in a hurry so we will probably need to go with the 1235.

Rich did they add more weight in the rear lockers? I was actually at that comp but road behind the VLX.

I prefer the shape of the wake when the wedge is in play even if you can't get the wake size quite as massive.

David,

What engine and prop are you running?

What is the planing time like? Anything more than 6 seconds is probably unacceptable for our purposes.

Nothing added to the compartments.

Use the wedge and the wake will be a tad steeper.
