WOW,
A short video of a Launch and quick spin around the pattern (LOL) from a F-18.

P.S Look at the wings flexing as he lands back on the deck and his eye balls as the catch cable pulls tight when he lands.

To go on a ride would be one thing. To be able to go on a ride and be able to handle the G's would be another. To be able to do both and fly one under your own command would be out of this world!
It's almost worth the life you would give up as a normal human to be able to say you punch holes in the sky with a 30+ Million dollar toy your Job!

Much respect to these guys and the TEAM that makes this kind of thing possable. This plane would never get off the ground or return safe with out the huge support they have.

Very cool, Grant. That reminds me of a clip I saw 5-6 years ago showing a reporter riding along in the same view. The pilot was doing barrel rolls and the reporter was blacking out from the G-forces then coming to all on camera. After landing, they guy was drenched-sweaty head-to-toe!

Ahhh... The power of search engines:

Give them Red Neck Nascar Boys credit though.

Dale Jr. acted like he was on a carnival ride.

Grant,
Those are the horizontal stabilizers . They move like that with the control stick. They do flex but not that much.
There are some really cool vids on the net. The f-18's are amazing up close, but the newer planes are just flat awe inspiring.

I'm pretty sure Grant is referring to the wing flex not only on landing, but in flight as well, not the stabilizers. They showed us this video on the first day of my first aerospace engineering class to give us a feel of just how much flex wings are designed to deal with, it's pretty crazy.

My wife has been fortunate enough to get back seat rides in F-16's and even done a carrier take off and landing as a passenger in a transport. I tend to hate her for that lol.

I think you meant to post this one instead:

I'm no Dale Jr fan, but he showed just what kind of shape he's in.

Dale Jr's a bada$$. He spends 1/2 his life at 2 g's. I'm no nascar fan, but they're still great athletes (maybe just in a different sense from what most people are used to).

I'd love a ride. I'd probably puke instantly. Ha, ha, ha.
