Not sure if this has been posted recently, but here are a few links on it. We plan to be out all weekend and know this stretch of the river very well. Let us know if anyone coming from out of town needs any help.... Cheers http://www.supraboats.com/news.php?view=article&news_id=53 http://www.pdxwake.com/viewtopic.php?t=1277

there is one spot right on the river you can camp at (Clackamette Park?) but you will want some of us to show you the water in that area. Really quite simple, but we would be happy to show you around. The event is pretty much right downtown portland, so not a lot of camping, but you can find tons of camping outside of Portland..... just drop, brady, john, or myself and email and we can all probably offer you suggestions... Camper camping or tent camping?

Tent camping, ross island works fine. Just have to rough it, I called the sherriff's office, camping is allowed on ross Island. Too bad I have an x-45, or I would be there in a second!!!

How safe would the boat be in the parking lot of a hotel in the area?

chris, are you downtown all the time? why don't you stop and chat? chas, there are all sorts of safe areas here, but if you are a bit leary about it you can drop it by my house and we have locked and gated storage.. we are about 15 minutes from where the launch is that day....

I can fit 3 boats at my place too. And I live 5 minutes from T-Diggs. But I wouldnt be too concerned with most of the hotels in the area. Let us know if you need a list of hotels and we can get you some that have room for boat parking.

Yeah Diggs, I am Downtown about 2-3 times per week, mostly behind Ross Island. I will look for you guys and stop in and say hi. No Water baloons please, I only have a couple of bilge pumps.

Chris. Damn Brutha, You guys were riding it up all afternoon and into the evening yesterday. Even in the wind. We gave up the wakeboards and went strictly to surfing after the Wallies all showed up at 5pm.

Brady, Had a bunch of newbies who don't know any better on my boat yesterday. They are just happy for the pull, can't jump the wake or anything, so I said why not. You are right though, windy as all get out. We went to surfing as well later. Did you see my Daughter standing on my shoulders while wakesurfing? Great temp., but sucky conditions.

yeah brady sounds like he is helping you out with hotel reservations and feel free to drop john, myself, brady or others a line and we will all help you out.... we are all helping John and the two local dealers make this a success. we all have places you can store your boat if you are at a hotel and will help out as much as possible... any door prize ideas and sponsors that might want to throw in a door prize or a prize for a suggested even would be cool too...

This is a great resource for hotel accommodations. http://www.travelportland.com/visitors/index-lodging.html I would recommend staying on the south end and away from the downtown hotels. Parking can be an issue with the boats down there. I talked to the Rivershore and they have rooms still available. Did you get my email Charles? Rivershore Hotel on the Willamette River Accommodations: Hotels, Motels & Resorts 1900 Clackamette Drive Oregon City, OR 97045 Toll-Free: (800) 443-7777 Phone: (503) 655-7141 Fax: (503) 655-1927 Website: www.rivershorehotel.com E-Mail: kfranco@rivershorehotel.com

Brady, What do you think for something that might be closer to Willamette Park? That might be a complicated drive up to Willy Park. Anything on 43? Something up at the top of the hill by Barber/99?

There are a couple of others on 99. I will see if I can figure out the names, numbers, and addresses. I was thinking that if people stay at the Rivershore that if parking was an issue that Gerry said that they could keep boats at AWS. Also if they jump on the 205 and take one exit south they can jump right on 43 and its a straight shot to Macadam through LO.
