if you have the resources I would recommend building your own. The grinch isn't that powerful, you could build would much more powerful for a fraction of the cost of the grinch.

this link may help you out

I could build those pretty easily, how big of a market is there for them and what kind of price tag do they usually carry? I am from AZ and have never seen one before, yeah call me shielded...

Market is growing. Most kids are making their own winches, but there are a few companies producing them for sale.

www.neverride.com - The Hive $10,000
www.distortionboarding.com - The Grinch around $2000
www.myspace.com/pulldozer - Pulldozer around $1700
www.skate12gauge.com - The Revolver $3000

I know there are a couple more I'm forgetting.

Another good site for winching is www.wakeboarding-winch.com

IMO opinion Bullet Lines and Released Winch Co make the best winches on the market right now. Checkout the options: We have an all aluminum winch with true Honda motor, TAV Torq-A-Verter, and disengaging spool starting at $1500.

Our winches weigh less than 100 lbs, we use a Honda racing go cart engine that can be modified later to 9 hp, and no one else makes a disengaging spool.

It all comes down to options, we make the best winch for the money right now; if anybody feels I'm wrong, please list the options of any other commercial winch for sale.

Many of the top pro riders that winch are hitting us up for sponsorships because we make the sickest winches, and to top it off NeverRide (was considered the best winch manufacturer) is now the sole distributor of Bullet Lines and Released Winch Co in Europe.

Here are some pics of winches we have built for customers:

This the budget winch that is $1500

J.L. Mobster:

We passed on doing an MTV show...
Most of the Pro Wakeskaters saw our Pimp Winch at Byerly Toe Jam stop 2, and agreed it was the sickest thing out there.

We have already talked with Red Bull Southwest Region to produce some custom winches, and many other College Winch Clubs are using our winch now.

Our winch company spent most of this year developing Released Winch Co. Next year will be a much different ball game, and you will see and hear alot more.

I can throw down a few names right now:

Currently Bret Little rides for us; He is more than likely the best Rail Wakeskater in the world, won Byerly Toe Jam Stop 2 Cable, and just won Pro Wakskate Cable nationals.

We are building Ricky Gonzalez his Outlaw winch right now.

Tom Fooshee has asked to ride for us, and is in the works for next season; probably the best Rail wakeboard rider in the world right now, front cover of wakeboard magazine last issue, and just won Cable nationals.

You can make a good winch for under 400 dollars. Get a motor off of ebay. Just make sure its a side turning one.
