Have 04 X-30, thinking of 06 X-Star due to closeout pricing. For the average rider do you really need to add a lot of extra ballast?

I will demo the Star, but its hard to tell if you really like something with only a run or two and limited driving time.

I guess I'm looking for a little input from those of you who own or ride behind an X-Star.

I would answer no..the wake with the stock ballast full is basically all a average rider would need..I had an 03' xstar and now i have an 06', even though I add extra weight in my boat i don't think you "really need it."

I would love a new star but the 03 x30 has just been too good for me to give up. She has 600 hours on her and still purring like the day we got her. But I have riddne behind an Xstar and really like the difference. I like the wake and storage. I just wish the floor or freeboard was lower like the X30. Im tall and it kinda bugs me. But the wake is baddddd.
