Just stoked, went out for first ride of the year on Saturday. Incredible weather for E. washington, almost 60 degrees air temp., the water was a frigid 37 degrees, when you wrecked you could not get back to the surface quick enough. Today, rain & snow mix Just excited, had to share

Speaking of NWWF in Pateros...

Guys,

I've set it up for 08/29 - 09-01 this year so we can enjoy nicer weather and the kids won't have to miss school. Please call and set up your reservations at the hotel asap.

Kai, Ya I have been thinking about you but I thought Moses would be warmer than the Columbia. Regardless I want to hookup and ride your lake, and your welcome here any time.

Thanks Gary, I look forward to seeing you and the rest of the bunch. If you have a chance send me a pic OUR new boat.

Glad to hear folks from Spokane are starting to ride again . . . The weather, last weekend, was inspiring. Do any of you know of a decent launch at Long Lake, that is accessible with the low water? I heard the public launch, just below 9-mile dam, is too shallow . . . haven't verified it, though?

Cliff, 8-29 thru 9-01 is a wed thru sat?? is that correct??

Barrett,

I see that your favorite rider is "Any Third". I would be happy to be your favorite rider whenever you get your boat in the water!!!

Mark,

Same goes for you, if you need a third on these cold early season days, let me know.

I'm good for gas, and any beverages that might be needed!

Sorry to hijack. Hey Cliff, what are the options for lodging at the NWWF in Pateros, hotel, motel, campsites? Just curious because we have never been and may be interested in checkin' it out. Hijack over.

Can't wait for this wind to end.

Guys,

Gary, it is wed - sat this year. With the weather that time of year, people want to stay longer.

MD, You can camp about a 1/2 mile up river from the Hotel, there's trailer camping down the street as well. For the price, (about eighty bucks a night) I'd just reserve a room.

Jakober, sounds good. I'm hauling the boat in on Monday to have some work done, and to have it un-winterized. . . will then be ready for the next nice day, and hopefully, clear water somewhere.

Cliff,

Do you recognize that tower in the last Pic?

Remember how the morning started out like crap and poor Brad rode before the sun even came up, then we went up toward the dam, the sun came up and the snot stopped freezing on my nose!! That was great.

If I remember correctly, you didn't drag your butt out of bed until sometime much later!!!

Ask Brad, I am sure he will tell you how cold it was, until the sun came up.

See U at Pateros,

Hi All, Whats happening at Pateros? Not looking to crash a party, but the water looks awesome. Brad and Lacie will vouch for me as an early riser eager 3rd. I'm also looking for year round riding in Seattle.

J Jakober-

Sounds great, I just need to find a place to launch on Long Lake before the launch at 9 mile opens. If you guys have any suggestions I am all ears. I am hoping that 3-4 more weeks and the boat will be out of storage, I cant wait to start riding.

Hey spider,
not to hi-jack the thread but what type of wet suit do you wear to ride in those conditions. Our water temp is 42 right now and air is anywhere from 55-70 right now. Nobody around here ever starts riding near this early around me.

Hey Mark, I was part of your crew with Brian Francis, a couple years ago. How are things? I dropped you an e-mail, a few days ago, just to say 'hey.' I'm living about 2 miles from your folk's house now, so lets get together and do some early season riding.

See ya,

Ryan.

Ryan-

Just sent you an email back, I am not exactly sure about what happened with the email that you sent me.

The boat is coming out of storage in about three weeks, but we need to find a place to launch on Long Lake. I dont think that the launch at 9 mile opens for awhile. Sounds like we are going to have plenty of people who are willing to pitch in for gas.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the note. I sent you another e-mail, hopefully, the second one will get through to you. My server may be having issues, it's happened before. Let me know if it made it to you.

Damn this snow!!!

Cheers.

I'm getting a little tired of the snow here on the East side! Looks like we've got few folks here that don't mind the early season cold. We'll all have to head out one day soon. I'll be out of town for the next week, but the next decent day I'm getting the boat out and ready for the water.

Hello Greg,

I'd be happy to join you, if there is space in your boat. Nothing like frosty water in March. I'm hoping my boat will be ready in a couple weeks, as well.

JJakober, I'm pretty sure we can squeeze you in. Funny thing...it's not usually real crowded during the cold season. My daughter is already claiming I need a new driver for Mar and early Apr.

Ryan, how much more ballast are you gaining with those V-Drive sacs instead of the hard tanks?
Old     (liveoz)      Join Date: May 2002       02-25-2007, 9:39 PM Reply
If anybody wants to head over to the west side, I'll be putting my boat on the water @ March 15th.

At first I was disappointed with the dates of Pateros Since I'll be on a houseboat on Roosevelt for Labor Day Weekend, but I think that I can hit Pateros on Wed-Thur, do an AM run on Friday and head to Roosevelt from there, I would imagine that at least some of the gang (Jeff, Bryan, Ed, etc.) would be down for that. Six days in a row of nothing but glass, can hardly wait.
Old     (rwb)      Join Date: Aug 2005       02-26-2007, 10:42 AM Reply
Hey Mark, I'm pretty sure the rear hard tanks are 250# or so, and they are being replaced with the 400# v-drive sacs. I've been told that you actually end up with more than 400# when the sacs are completely full. When all said and done, I should be running between 1800# and 1900# plus spectators. I'm also looking forward to the added storage, when running empty.

Cheers.
