Anyone go to these lakes? Folsom will be kaput in a couple of weeks... wondering if anyone has experience at these lakes.

Just got finished with Union Valley. There are a few areas that are not marked but the lake is great in the AM. By noon, the lake is blown out and you can head to Skiers Cover (hidden in the southern part of the lake) and then in the evening around 6 PM the wind starts to ease up.

IMO, I would definitely do a camping trip up there. The lake is about 3-4 feet below normal levels also but a very, very nice lake.

I use Clementine as a alternative to Folsom. If you're in EDH, you can get there in less than 1hr. Much warmer than those high altitude lakes. Jenkinsen is also an alternative.

Clementine is definitely not warmer than Union Valley. I know this since I do go to both lakes and clementine is colder on my temp gauge on the boat. $.02

Last weekend Union Valley read 71 degree's at 10 AM, Clementine hasn't been over 68 yet this year.

Just keep vigilant at Union Valley about the granite boulders near the shoreline just underwater. Otherwise great place.

mailibudude, I agree but they are out of the water right now. :-) Yes, it is low enough for them to come out.

Last year I barely missed them because I didn't know they were there and the boulders were just barely sticking out of the water. Missed them THANK GOD!!!!!

I went to Icehouse a couple years ago. Yes, it was cold, but there was only one other boat. We were in one cove, on one side of the lake, he was on the other.

Sac river is high right now. Ridden there 4 times in the last week. It's fine.

The river is higher... but as a result there is quite a bit of debris floating and some of the pieces are quite large!
